About Kristy Howard Writes
Hey, I’m Kristy!
I’m a wife, mom, chaplain, and longtime pastor’s wife learning how to follow Jesus without performing for Him.
For more than two decades, I’ve lived inside vocational ministry—raising five kids, navigating spiritual burnout, and slowly healing from the legalism and pressure I once confused with faith.
I write for Christian women who feel like they’re not “enough,” no matter how hard they try.
The ones who love Jesus deeply… but carry invisible guilt, exhaustion, and shame they can’t explain.
Maybe that’s you.
Maybe you’ve spent years being the “strong one,” the “good girl,” the helper, the prayer warrior, the faithful wife or church leader.
But somewhere along the way, the weight got too heavy.
And now you’re wondering if there’s a more honest way to live your faith—without guilt, fear, or burnout.
If that’s where you are, I want you to know this: you’re not alone.
There’s nothing wrong with your faith.
You’re not too sensitive.
And God isn’t disappointed with you.
You’ve just been living under pressure He never asked you to carry.
What I Write About
Here in this space, I write for women who want to:
Unravel shame and find rest—not just physically, but spiritually
Heal from the long shadows of legalism and performance
Learn what grace actually feels like in real life
Rebuild their inner life without fear, guilt, or hustle
Lead and love from overflow—not obligation
Whether you hold a ministry title or have just felt like you needed to earn your place with God, this space is for you.
A Little More About Me
I’m a lifelong evangelical from a long line of ministers, shaped by both the beauty and the bruising of church life.
Along the way, I’ve walked through depression, anxiety, ministry wounds, and deep healing.
Today, I live with my husband Jeremy in a 1920s farmhouse in Fort Worth, Texas, where we homeschool our kids, serve as hospice chaplains, and enjoy evening walks and date nights.
My words have been featured at places like (in)courage, NEWIM, and inside the inboxes of women just like you.
