Hey, I’m Kristy.

Welcome, friend!

I write about faith and fear, growth and grace, work and wholeness—and how to rebuild a grace-full life that finds you steady instead of spiraling or stuck.

I’m mom to five amazing, half-or-mostly-grown kids, and wife to a fun-loving Texas Cowboy who happens to also be a minister.

For the past 15 years, Fort Worth, Texas has been home. Our humble, early-20th-century farmhouse is where I’ve spent many full days exploring everything from phonics and laundry piles to philosophy, history, and theology with my five kids.

This summer, after more than a decade of being a homeschooling work-from-home mom, I stepped into the role of a chaplain and am now working both from and outside the home.

I love excellent books, pithy quotes, slow mornings, October, and rainy days. Having come from a long line of ministers, it’s no surprise that I also love theology, liturgy, and towering steeples.

I’m an empath, and no stranger to anxiety and depression. My journey of healing through religious trauma has shaped the most formative parts of my life and calling.

Writing is where the most vulnerable parts of my story are offered up as a path forward for other women who are ready to silence shame-shaped narratives—and live into steady, unshakable confidence.

Because of my story, I’m passionate about helping sensitive, Christian women cultivate grace-shaped identity, mindful self-care, and purposeful work—and Kristy Howard Writes is the space where I do that.

You might feel at home here if you’re:

  • A devoted wife or mom who sometimes feels unseen or stretched too thin

  • A ministry wife who loves to serve, yet longs to rediscover her God-given identity

  • Wrestling with old beliefs that tied your worth to silence and smallness—yet feeling God invite you to reclaim the fullness of who He created you to be

  • Craving deeper faith—without the performance pressure

  • Longing to escape hustle culture in favor of a slower, more sacred rhythm

  • Trying to hold space for both motherhood and meaningful work

  • Realizing that beauty, creativity, or even a little lipstick don’t diminish your spirituality—they reflect your aliveness

  • Hungry for truth, beauty, purpose, and peace—all rooted in grace
